With many of our member organizations active in ministries to people with HIV/AIDS, both in the US and around the world, we focus our shareholder activity on the pharmaceutical companies’ response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. We call on these companies to create sustainable, affordable access to HIV/AIDS medications in the developing world through voluntary non-exclusive licensing of their antiretroviral medicines, greater research and development for appropriate medicines for children with HIV/AIDS. We have engaged in sustained shareholder activity with Abbott, Bristol Myers Squibb, Merck and Pfizer on this critical issue.

Additionally we work with large corporations who have employees and markets in Africa to develop model education, testing, insurance and medical delivery programs for employees and their families. Ford, Coca Cola, General Motors and ExxonMobil are a few of the companies who have implemented programs.
